Hey!!
So my first area of my mission is a small town called Washington. And I mean a small town. We live in an apartment in the town square and its pretty cool. The area we cover is quite large but it is full even smaller towns. There is one called Kalona and it is surrounded by an Amish community. We went to an Amish bakery my second day here and I had some of the best bread I have ever eaten. The people here are different but in a good way. A lot of them are quite religious and not too open to hear our message but we have found a few willing people to listen to us. We knock on doors a lot and I had my first door closed on me just the other day and me and my companion just laughed. Oh ya and her name is Sister Hilliard. She is pretty cool and down to earth so we get along very well. We are the only sisters in our zone and there are three other companionships in our zone. They all seem super nice so I'm excited to serve with them. Our church building is the smallest church building I have ever been in but its very nice. We have a branch and not a ward and the people are very nice and welcoming. Right before transfers, Sister Hilliard and her previous companion found a sister from Guatemala who has lived in Washington for about a month or two and has been looking for the church because she is a member. She can only speak Spanish though and she has two kid, one who is ten and wants to be baptized, who do speak English. So I have been able to help a bit with that but it has been difficult because I do not speak Spanish very well. The Spanish elders helped us out one day but I have been working on my Spanish as well. I thought that was something neat that you all would want to know. But all is going well and I hope you guys are doing well too. Love you all!!!
